Green stuff has popped up, so I'm laying them down in the trenches and starting to cover with soil. Less concerned with the birds making a mess so I'll remove the net.
Looking good so far. Still waiting for some action from the capsicums. Onions got a bit toasted. Added some bricks to smooth out the temp highs and lows. Discovered that slugs like to crop tomatoes off at the stem, and that they like to spend the day lurking under the dirt pots.
I’ve had this little patch out on one of the main gardens as an experiment. Seems to be doing ok, but the forecast is for some very cold weather for the next week, so I’ve put some plastic covers over them. The patch in the kitchen garden didn’t do very well. I think that there was too little sun. Will try again when the sun travelling closer to summer track.
Have chosen a permanent spot for the potatoes, and planted some desiree. The birds have been having a great ol time in this spot, so I’ve put a net over to keep them off till hopefully, some green appears.
