Child of the Planet

I had to prune the cabbage back a bit, as it was getting a too 'Little Shop of Horrors'. now I don't know what to do with all the spare ground underneath does anybody have any suggestions?

Also planted a couple of capsicums out the front where they'll get hit with the sun. Scattered some basil between the tomatoes. Looks a bit 'Logan's Run' as the weather is still a bit iffy so I've given everything plastic domes made from milk bottles.

I'm a gardening newby so there is still a bit of anxiety waiting for something new in the garden to bud for the first time.
