Lose yer bottle

Image
It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to preserve some garden goodness. I have learnt some lessons from past adventures, and this year managed not to break any jars or spill scolding liquids and chunks of veg all over the kitchen. Now I have four bottles of passata, and a couple of jars of bread and butter pickle. Plenty of produce still ripening in the garden

Building a kitchen garden

It’s been five years and I still can’t grow lettuce. Damn things ether wilt away to nothing, or bolt straight to seed. I’ve decided that it must be something to do with sun tolerance.  I’m building a garden in a strip of dirt just outside the kitchen, that sits in shade for most of the summer day. I cleared out all the weeds, and dropped in some decent fill. Topped it all off with mulch. Planted some thyme and oregano. Going to see if I can get lettuce and other 'soft veg' to survive.     Click here if you don't see the video above Click here if you don't see the video above
