Covid 19 : Day 14 of lock-down : End of week two

How are we all during so far?
Halfway through and the vibe is a general feeling like we won't have to extend the lock-down past the four weeks.
I’m hearing reports of people spending their days doing a bit of work from home. Others living in the house are doing workouts in the yard, or playing xbox I’d be very happy to do four weeks of guilt free video games).
Some are enjoying the last of the summer heat, firing up the pizza oven and having a quiet dinner for two on the patio watching the sun set.
Both my neighbours have been busy doing jobs about the house and the kids on the street are usually laughing and yelling.

Yesterday, I mused that the lock-down could be good for the countries economy.
While the rain hisses outside, I thought I’d think of reasons why….
Essentials are still moving about the country, money is still being spent. Maybe some money is being saved?
Once the lock-down is over, the pressure valve will be released and people will spring forth with new energy. If they have survived, businesses in the hospitality sector will be flooded with people. Wouldn't surprise me if the day after level 4 is removed, all the big shops have massive sales to get people out of the houses and in the door. Or maybe wait a week to soak up the initial demand
The lock-down will have a cleansing effect, wiping out badly run businesses.
And finally we will have avoided being surrounded by sickness and death which induce emotional trauma.

Trump takes pride in being a ‘reaction’ sort of dude. Fire springs up, put it out, move on.
Covid threatens core voters, start to move on virus
Ventilators scarce, out bid everyone including the home States for ventilators
Masks running out, threaten 3M.
Everything's turning to custard, blame the WHO.
Now he has lots of ventilators coming in but the drugs are now running out...

Patents lining hallways is now a regular sight in newscasts.
Imagine an obscene future where all these patents now have ventilator machines hanging over their heads, but no one is hooked up to the machines due to a lack of sedatives.

So looking to the future, once the pandemic has hit its peak. What is the next fire Trump will need to extinguish?
Mountains of medical waste including human bodies?
Thousands of respirators that no one needs anymore?

I’ve decided to stop dwelling on Trump's inadequacies. All he did was to ask people to vote for him, and people did. I blame the people.

Weather was a bit shit today so I didn't get to do much pallet work.
Went out food shopping. Last week I went early in the morning and was disappointed when I found a queue waiting for me. Might try dinnertime instead.
6pm was a bad idea. Queue was longer than in the morning. Few people with masks, few with gloves. Lots of alcohol going out the door and being packed in the cars.
